Not Flipping...Somersaulting for Flip Flop Wines! #review

I have a new love. I'm not much of a wine drinker. I enjoy an occasional glass. And I love a good doctored up Sangria. But I've always wanted to open myself up a bit more to the HUGE variety of wines on the market. So when I was approached to review flipflop wines, I jumped at the chance!

And not only was I excited about the wines themselves, but about the company as well. In 2011, flipflop wines and Underdog Wine Merchants are partnering with Soles4Souls to help them achieve their goal of 11 million pairs of shoes donated to barefooted children in need!

Check out this video for more information.

I was sent three varieties of flipflop wines to try out. First up was the Pinot Noir.

Tastes Like: Medium bodied, structured Pinot Noir with a bright cherry, sweet spice and a supple, velety finish
Full of: Cola aromas and hints of Vanilla
Pair with: Grilled mahi mahi, bacon-wrapped shrimp or chocolate chip cookies
Serve: Room Temperature
SRP: $7.00

Like I said, I love a good Sangria. This one was a bit heavy and a tad dry to me. Since I have a bit of a sweet tooth when it comes to a red wine, it was sweet, but not quite sweet enough. However, my hubs is a red wine lover and he enjoyed it.  He said it was tart but smooth, an

Next up was the Pinot Grigio.

Taste like: Light bodied, refreshing Pinot Grigio with tropical citrus, ripe pear and a zesty, clean finish
Full of: Balanced crisp acidity
Pair with: Bruschetta, spaghetti carbonara or eggplant Parmesan
SRP: $7.00

This one was much more up my alley. Nice and sweet. Very smooth. Great aftertaste. It's recommended to serve this one chilled, but I actually liked it a bit more as it warmed a bit.

And last but not least, Riesling.

Tastes like: Medium-bodied, complex Riesling with peach, apricot and melon which leads to a satisfying, smooth finish
Full of: Tropical notes and sweet aromas
Pair with: Tofu stir-fry, shredded park tacos and sake sashimi

Absolutely, hands-down, my favorite! Very sweet, not dry, tropical. And very smooth! Enjoyed this one with some shrimp kabobs and it was perfect!

Flipflop wines also come in a Merlot, Moscato, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

At $7.00 a bottle, flipflop wines distinct flavors can't be beat! And not only is $7.00 a great price, when you purchase their wines, you are supporting a cause felt all over the world. For more information on flipflops wines, Soles4Souls, or check out all the varieties at flipflopwines.com.
