Glade® Wax Melts #review #imabzzagent

I'm LOVING the new Glad Wax Melts that I got to try out for FREE by being a member of BzzAgent! And check out my review for the NEW Glade® PlugIns® Scented Oil Customizables!

Now, I'm a huge Scentsy fan. I love firing up my warmer to freshen my entire house with wonderfully scented wax melts, and no harsh chemicals. And for only $5.00, they're my favorite way to spice up my stale winter air.

BzzAgent sent me a coupon to try the Glade Wax Melts for free. I was a bit skeptical, being that I love my Scentsy so much. But I headed off to Target to pick some up and give them a fighting chance. What I found amazed me! The scent packs were super easy to find since they took up about a 4 foot aisle section! Haha!

There are 8 scents to choose from, but my Target only carried 6 of them. They come in an 8 pack and were priced at $2.99. That beats Scentsy for sure!

I didn't buy the warmer, simply because I already had one that I could use. The Glade warmers are a bit smaller than mine, and are very nice looking.

It was a tough choice, but I decided on Lavender & Vanilla - one of my favorite scent combos! I went straight home, plugged in my warmer and was set to be transported to a lush, green field of flowers! :)

After about 5 minutes of warming, I noticed the delicious scent filling my entire main floor. Amazing! I'd say these wax melts have the scent power and quality comparable to Scentsy. I used it on and off for a couple of days. I did noticed by about day 3, maybe 12 hours of warming total, the scents started to weaken, but they were definitely still noticeable. Being that the package claims "up to 12 hours" of scent, I'd say their claim is a bit on the safe side. I easily got a good 20 hours of warming before I felt like they were spent.

I'm very happy with the Glade Wax Melts. And for only $2.99 (locally), I'd say Scentsy has a new competitor!

And while the selection of scents is small as of right now, the scents they do offer are warm, inviting, classic scents that you can't go wrong with.

Apple Cinnamon
Pure Vanilla Joy
Sparkling Spruce
Frosted Berry Kiss
Apple Cinnamon Cheer
Fresh Berries
Vanilla Passionfruit
Wild Raspberry

For more information, check out the Glade site for details.

This is a bit off topic, but I was also pleased at the ingredients of the wax melts. They read as follows: wax, fragrance, stabilizer, dye. Simple. No harsh chemicals just to get a nice smell in your house! Love it!

If you are a Scentsy lover like I am, I recommend giving the Glade Wax Melts a try.  For a lower price and the convenience of picking them up on a regular shopping trip, I'd say the choice is easy!

NEW Glade® PlugIns® Scented Oil Customizables #review #imabzzagent

As a BzzAgent, I was lucky (again) to be able to try out the NEW Glade® PlugIns® Scented Oil Customizables for free!

I love a fresh smelling house. And with this ridiculously long winter we've had, I'm itching to air out our stale surroundings. Since it's still below zero outside, I'll take the next best thing, a good air freshener! So I took my free product coupon and headed out to Target to see what I could find.

I know the pics are a little blurry, but as you can see, I didn't have any trouble finding them in my local Target.

There were a ton of scents to choose from! What's great about the Glade® PlugIns® Scented Oil Customizables, is that they truly are customizable and you don't have to choose just one! With two separate scents in each plug-in that alternate scents each day automatically, you could choose any number of scent combinations that tickle your fancy. Or even fill it with two refills of the same scent! Some scent packs come with two different complimentary scents. Or you can buy scents singly and create your own paradise of sensory delight!

The plug-in starter kit retailed for $7.99 at my local Target. Decent price, especially since it comes with two scents already. After perusing a wall of scents to choose from, I went with the starter kit that included Lavender and Peach Blossom. But it was tough with choices like Lavender & Vanilla, Clean Linen & Sunny Days, and Sweet Pea & Lilac!

I got home and plugged it in immediately. One perk I like is that it has a swivel in it so you can turn it sideways if space is limited or your outlet is turned sideways. I like the muted colors, and scrollwork design that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, and camouflages into almost any decor!

The one downfall of the product is I think they could've filled the oil containers a bit fuller.

There is a claim that these are supposed to last up to 60 days, but I stopped noticing a scent after about 3 weeks. And I had it set on the lowest setting of a possible five settings of strength. I'm a bit disappointed with the longevity of the product, but at the refill price of only $4.89 (at my local Target), that's less than $1.70 a week for a customizable scent that actually works in a large area. I plugged mine into my dining room, and was pleased to smell it every time I walked in my front door, which is about 25 feet away!

There are so many scent choices that possibilities are almost endless. You can choose one of their complimentary scent combo packs, or buy the scents in double packs and customize your own. Here are just a few of their scents:

Clean Linen
Hawaiian Breeze
Apple Cinnamon
Pure Vanilla Joy
Berry Burst
Clear Springs

Check out all of the scents and combos at the Glade site.

Up next, Glade® Wax Melts... Now, I'm a die hard Scentsy fan, so check out my no holds bar review!

Mac and Cheese Tacos Recipe

I just HAD to share this AMAZING recipe from Mac and Cheese Tacos that I found on Blog Chef! It combines two of my all time favorite foods - Mac & Cheese and Tacos! How can you go wrong?  And I love that it's so simple.  Basically make mac & cheese.  Make tacos.  Combine them.  Easy!  Check it out!

“Come join Mac and Cheese Mania at Nutmeg Nanny and Rachel Cooks sponsored by Door to Door Organics and OXO!”

The combination of macaroni and cheese and tacos is absolutely delicious.  I got this idea when eating at a local buffet, after combining these two delicious meals into one, I just knew that I had to come up with a recipe of my own. This recipe is pretty basic and uses packet taco seasoning but the macaroni and cheese is completely is completely from scratch. I tried to make the amount of mac and cheese just enough for the tacos but you may have a little left over. You can top these tacos with any of your favorite condiments; salsa, guacamole, tomatoes, lettuce, and sour cream. If you are looking for something a little different, give this recipe a try. Enjoy.

Ingredients:
1lb ground beef
1 (1.25 ounce) packet taco seasoning mix
1 cup green onions (sliced)
hard taco shells
Macaroni and Cheese-
4 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni
1/8 cup butter
1/8 cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1 small dash black pepper
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Cooking Instructions:

Step 1: In a medium skillet over medium high heat, brown ground beef. Drain off any excess liquid and stir in the taco seasoning mix and ¾ cup of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes (or until the ground beef is fully cooked), stirring occasionally.
Step 2: Meanwhile, cook elbow macaroni according to package directions. While the elbow macaroni is cooking, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper.  Cook for 2-3 minutes awhile stirring. Slowly add the milk and cook while stirring until the mixture becomes somewhat thick. Stir in cheese until melted. Remove from heat. Drain the elbow macaroni and add it to the cheese sauce. Stir to coat.
Step 3: Place a little of the taco meat into each hard shell taco and top with macaroni and cheese and green onions.
(Makes 4 Servings)
